Is Respondus LockDown Browser Part of Your Exam Strategy This Semester?

If you are administering high-stakes exams in Canvas, Respondus LockDown Browser is a powerful tool for reducing academic dishonesty by restricting what students can access during a quiz.

To help you and your students get started on the right foot, we’ve put together answers to the most common questions we receive:

NEW: Enable Assisted Captioning in Canvas Studio Today!

Accurate captions are essential for accessible, inclusive course content. Canvas Studio’s new Assisted Caption Editing feature helps you identify and correct potential errors in auto-generated captions, reducing the time you spend reviewing videos for accessibility issues by an average of 30%. Ready to get started?

Our FAQ walks you through everything you need to know:

How do I enable and use Assisted Caption Editing in Canvas Studio?

Reminder: Canvas ePortfolios Are Going Away in June 2026 — Has Your Students’ Work Been Saved?

The deadline is approaching. Canvas will permanently remove all ePortfolio content in June 2026, and it cannot be recovered. If your students have work stored in ePortfolios, now is the time to act.

What you can do:
  • Alert your students: Students must download their ePortfolios before June 2026 to preserve their work. Share this FAQ in your courses: How do I download the contents of my Canvas ePortfolio?
  • Point them to instructions: OneIT sent download instructions to all student ePortfolio users on January 12, 2026. Make sure your students have seen them.
  • Look ahead: A new Portfolio tool with enhanced features will be available before Summer 2026. Review the new Portfolio FAQs to get familiar with what’s coming.

The sooner your students act, the less likely they are to lose work they can’t get back.
