New Canvas Assignment Enhancements

Canvas Assignment Enhancements is now enabled for all Canvas courses at UNC Charlotte. This update refreshes the Classic Assignment Details page with an improved interface and submission workflow for students. The change improves the student experience in completing and submitting assignments, viewing rubrics, and locating instructor feedback.

Review the Canvas Guide “What is Assignment Enhancements?”  and watch the brief overview video (1:48) to familiarize yourself with what students will see when submitting assignments.

NEW Studio Video Caption Generation and Rolling Transcripts

Canvas users can now request captions and enable rolling transcripts for videos directly through the Studio embed tool in the Rich Content Editor (RCE) — no re-embedding or returning to Studio required. Instructors can configure and update how media displays right from the editor, and students benefit from searchable transcripts that make engaging with video content easier.
